Needless to say, all dogs deserve a loving family. If you don’t give these mixed dogs a chance, then you’re essentially eliminating the vast majority of dogs in shelters. You Can Literally Rescue a DogĪccording to the ASPCA, roughly 70 – 75% of all dogs in shelters are mutt dogs. This means that both parents would need the rarer recessive gene for the offspring to inherit these type of disorders. On the other hand, it can be argued that most of these genetic disorders are caused by recessive genes.
